Most of us are familiar with those god-awful creepy (and rather annoying) talking heads that appear on various websites courtesy of SitePal. (I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.)
And the torture continues. This morning I ran into Motion Portrait, a company who has taken creepy to the next level.
Motion Portrait focuses on photo realistic flash characters that sit around starring back at you while you do your web browsing (or shopping just like real life).
What is the world coming to, isn’t it uncomfortable enough that I can’t go into an Asian convenience store or liquor store without the attendant uncomfortably tarring me down the entire time, but to to bring that same level of uncomfortableness to to the web while browsing a website, well that’s just insane.
The characters eyes creepily follow your mouse around and speak unaproving remarks from time to time, at least that’s what I’m assuming, since based on personal experience my only conclusion is that they are saying something along the lines as “You been here two-owa! You no buy, you go now!”
They are so creepy!!!! The models used are adorable but the use of the technology is so creepy it’s like watching horrific car crash, awe full as it may be, you just can’t look away.
Anyhee, click on the images to check out the links. Tell me what you think. Will someone please give this girl some eye drops!
haha! That is very very creepy, but if you are listening to music you can make her nod along to it… *LOL* It reminds me of the goldfish graphic at the bottom of this blog: http://agentpublisher.blogspot.com/ The goldfish are not creepy at all, and follow your mouse quite realistically. Fun to play with!
That rates as creepy in my book.
